Health - CAMHS - Specialised Therapies Team
The Specialised Therapies Team provides support for children and young people who need more in-depth or longer-term therapeutic support.
This service is usually accessed after initial support from another CAMHS team, where further intervention has been identified as beneficial.
How the service supports
The team offers a range of specialised therapies tailored to individual needs. These may include:
- Art psychotherapy
- Child and adolescent psychotherapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Family and systemic psychotherapy
- Play therapy
- Psychological therapies
Support is designed to help children and young people better understand and manage their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
The team often works closely with other professionals to provide coordinated support for children, young people and their families.
