Health - CAMHS - Eating Disorders Team

The Eating Disorders Team provides specialist support for children and young people experiencing disordered eating or diagnosed eating disorders. 

This includes conditions such as:

  • Anorexia nervosa
  • Bulimia nervosa
  • Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (AFRID)

How the service supports

The team offers:

  • Consultation and advice
  • Assessment of eating-related difficulties
  • Evidence-based treatments and interventions

Support is tailored to individual needs and can include home-based support. The level of support can increase where needed, including involvement in hospital settings through the acute paediatric pathway. 

Specialist Team

The team is made up of a range of professionals, including:

  • Family therapists
  • Psychiatrists
  • Mental health practitioners from nursing, social work, and occupational therapy backgrounds.

They work together to provide coordinated care for children, young people, and their families.
