Health - CAMHS - Eating Disorders Team
The Eating Disorders Team provides specialist support for children and young people experiencing disordered eating or diagnosed eating disorders.
This includes conditions such as:
- Anorexia nervosa
- Bulimia nervosa
- Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (AFRID)
How the service supports
The team offers:
- Consultation and advice
- Assessment of eating-related difficulties
- Evidence-based treatments and interventions
Support is tailored to individual needs and can include home-based support. The level of support can increase where needed, including involvement in hospital settings through the acute paediatric pathway.
Specialist Team
The team is made up of a range of professionals, including:
- Family therapists
- Psychiatrists
- Mental health practitioners from nursing, social work, and occupational therapy backgrounds.
They work together to provide coordinated care for children, young people, and their families.
