Health - CAMHS - Core Team

The Chikd and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) has a Core Team which provides support to children, young people, and their families to improve emotional wellbeing and address mental health needs.

The team works with those who require further assessment and support following involvement from other CAMHS services, such as the Primary Intervention Team, Future in Mind MHST, or the ReACH Team.

How the service supports

The Core Team offers short-term, focused support through:

  • Individual sessions with a clinician
  • Group work programmes

Support is usually provided for up to eight sessions, depending on the needs of the child or young person.

The aim is to rpovide targeted intervention to help manage difficulties, building coping strategies, and improve overall wellbeing.
