Wakefield Local Offer

Our next listening event

Our next listening event is Monday 14th September 2026, 10:00am - noon, Normanton Town Hall, WF6 2DZ.

Wakefield Council and People, Places, Lives (PPL) who host the local offer website, are redeveloping the site to make it easier and more relevant for you, our users. This is your chance to have your say about your user-experience, the information that you would like on there, and how you can access the information in a timely way when you need to.

Come along and be a part of making the Local Offer better.

We want to improve how people work together across the SEND system in the Wakefield district.

To support this, we are developing a Co-production Memorandum of Understanding to set out how groups representing parents and carers of children and young people with SEND will work together.

Co‑production means different groups working together as partners to share ideas and make decisions that improve SEND services and support the families they represent.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) explains what we want to achieve together and sets out everyone’s roles, responsibilities, and how we will work together.

This survey asks for your views on what should be included in the MoU. Your feedback will help shape how we work together to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

Your chance to help redesign the Local Offer

Our listening events are a chance for you to come along and tell us what we can do to help make the SEND Local Offer better. Wakefield Council is looking to redesign the website to make it work for you. We'd love to hear your ideas for how it might look moving forward.

This is what you told us in our April listening events:
