About SENDIASS Steering Board

WESAIL changed name to Wakefield SENDIASS from 1st April. Find out more about changes to our service.

Please note that Wakefield SENDIASS is a small team with high demand for our service. We therefore do not answer calls “live” and we require voicemails to be left. All enquiries are triaged to check for safeguarding matters. We actively encourage contact via email where possible and appreciate your patience whilst awaiting a response.

. We have a SENDIASS Steering board. 

Members of the group help shape and change the offer for children/young people with SEND and those around them in Wakefield. 

The board is made up of parents and carers of those with SEND as well as professionals.

Meetings for the SENDIASS steering group are held 3-4 times per year virtually using Microsoft Teams. 

We also aim to change the Chair each year. This is the chance to provide support and challenge to the service as well as leading the group. 

Applications for Chair are considered by a panel and then if required, an interview takes place.
