Changes to our service from 1st April 2026

WESAIL is pleased to share the news that following a “bid” process last year, Family Action has won the retender of the WESAIL service. 

There will be a new contract from 1st April 2026.

The Local Authority has decided to change the name of WESAIL to “Wakefield SENDIASS”. We will be working to change all documents and information available online.

The Local Offer will no longer be the responsibility of Family Action.

This will become the responsibility of Wakefield Local Authority. They will be the point of contact for the Local Offer email inbox; the Local Offer website and will produce the “News and views” newsletter.

A new Local Offer Facebook page will be created - this will be shared in March.

A new Local Offer email address will be created - this will be shared in March.

A new Wakefield SENDIASS email address will be created.

Family Action will have responsibility for the new contract for at least 4 years.

Wakefield will still have a small team to support families and professionals with advice relating to SEND law and reasonable adjustments in settings. We will also signpost people to other services in Wakefield or Nationally.

The service will continue to be mainly virtual.

Our contact telephone number 01924 965588 uses a voicemail service. Calls are not answered live.

Wakefield SENDIASS will keep the current Family Action branded Facebook page but with a name change from April.
