The Wakefield SEND Local Offer website is for children and young people with special educational needs and or disabilities This is known as SEND. It is also for their families.
It is provided by Wakefield Council in partnership with the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and Family Action.
The Local Offer has information on services and provision for children and young people under 25 in Wakefield. There may be services outside the area.
We are not recommending or endorsing these services. This means we are not saying one service is better than another.
Some of these services will get inspected by agencies like Ofsted or the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
People working with children and young people will need to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. They will also have safeguarding policies and insurance in place. You can ask services for these policies.
